Hence, these systems grasp more attention in automotive industrial fields andacademic research. ADAS consist of diverse systems targeting multiplepurposes such as keeping drivers’ safety, convenient driving, traffic flowfacilitation, and vehicle performance enhancement. Consequently, thisdiversity of ADAS with their different objectives causing complexity andhence causes challenges for researchers who seek to understand thesesystems and possess a comprehensive background about state-of-theartADAS emerging technologies. This paper introduces classificationsof ADAS according to different points of view and presents salientexamples of them which give a particular focus on providing scholarsand researchers with the necessary knowledge about these systems andacquiring useful insights about their purposes, benefits, and impacts ofautomotive modern technology which in turn pave the way for evolutionand implementation of modern driver assistance technologies.
